Two assistive prototypes — design / test / tradeoff

Side view of the final Design 1 upper-arm prototype showing its rounded 3D-printed wiping structure, wrapped handkerchief, and Velcro mounting strap.
Front view of Design 1 showing the handkerchief wrapped around the wiping surface to present fresh fabric for subsequent uses.
Design 2 forearm extension being evaluated in use, with two Velcro straps securing the rigid extension and its wiping surface near the face.

Design 1 met the weight and intended-form goals at 0.5 lb and about $15. Design 2 remained functional, but weighed about 1.5 lb and did not achieve its planned folding form.
