Wind Turbine Generator for Power Generation

Designed, fabricated, and tested a small wind-driven generator using a rotating coil and neodymium magnets, measuring AC EMF across five wind speeds and comparing the experimental trend with a simplified Faraday's-law model.

Wind-driven generator — build / test / output

Close view of the completed small wind-driven generator showing its propeller, steel shaft, rotating 80-turn coil, opposing magnets, brush contacts, 3D-printed supports, and wooden base.
Measured plot of peak open-circuit EMF against five wind speeds, increasing from 14.4 millivolts at 13.13 meters per second to 66.8 millivolts at 31 meters per second.
Oscilloscope display documenting the generator's measured periodic, non-sinusoidal AC EMF waveform.

Peak open-circuit EMF rose from 14.4 mV at 13.13 m/s to 66.8 mV at 31.0 m/s. Wind speed was used as a proxy because turbine RPM was not directly measured.
